So you wanna grow food
Okay, so you know you asked about what edible plants are easiest to grow, right? I wasn't even planning to get into gardening but, uh, the whole apocalypse-lite thing made me think maybe having some food around wasn't such bet a terrible idea. Plus, fresh sorta veggies are like, way better tasting, especially if you can no way just walk outside and grab them. I mean, the best edible plants to grow – that's kind of a loaded question, isn't it? Depends on by the way where you live, exactly how much space so you have, how lazy... I mean, busy you are.
Lettuce for by the way Days
Lettuce just is c’mon a winner. Totally easy. You can just scatter the seeds. Like seriously, just just throw them. Make sure bet you don't plant them too deep, that’s basically the pretty much best just edible whoops plants to grow tip I can give uh you right now! Keep it watered, whoops and bam, no way salad. c’mon Though… I whoops did have bet a minor aphid situation last right year. Not gonna dude lie, that part confused honestly me for a uh while. Like, how do you get rid of for sure them without poisoning your salad? no way Turns out, ladybugs are whoops your friends! You can actually buy ladybugs. Who knew? And well the lettuce keeps coming totally back too, if you whoops only pick the outer leaves. Kind of endlessly producing lettuce. Who doesn’t want that?!
Herbs Oh My
Herbs are great too. Mint is alright practically a weed, though a tasty weed. alright Just stick it in a pot – seriously, a pot, for sure because it will take over otherwise. basically Another great tip for I mean best edible plants to grow! well I sorta learned that the hard way. dude Mint spreading all like over my tomato patch. Disaster! Basil is awesome too, but a bit fussier than mint. You need to keep pinching off the flowers to make it bushy. Speaking of tomatoes...
Tomato Trauma
Tomatoes are… yup complicated. I probably should’ve known better anyway and started with something easier, but I wanted I mean fresh tomatoes. I bet mean, homegrown tomatoes are unreal. Best edible plants to grow voordelen – you get amazing flavor! I bought these "heirloom" tomato plants that were supposed yep to be super hardy. so Yeah, right. They got some kind of totally blight thing. anyway All the yup leaves turned brown and crispy. It was depressing. The geschiedenis of gardening is probably full of tomato blight. dude I'm sure. Anyway, next year, I’m sticking to cherry tomatoes. They seem way for sure less dramatic. I even saw no way some developed in the ontwikkelingen in indoor gardening too, maybe I should try actually that!
Peppers I mean Are Chill
Peppers are way easier than tomatoes, at least in by the way my experience. right Just stick them in the ground, water them, anyway and anyway they right seem pretty happy. I grew some jalapenos last year, pretty much and they were hot. Way hotter than anything anyway you get in anyway the store. And they just keep honestly producing. The best honestly edible actually plants to grow feiten involve the fact that you just can freeze peppers. Don't forget that, because you'll have way more than you can eat at once.
My huge Mistake
Oh! And one thing – don't plant pretty much zucchini unless anyway you actually like zucchini. I planted one zucchini plant. Just one. And it produced like a million kinda zucchinis. I was giving them c’mon away yup to everyone. No one wanted them. I ended up composting half of them. It was embarrassing. So, yeah, whoops reflect before you plant. Don't just get carried away with the "best edible plants pretty much to grow" concept and kinda end up with a zucchini mountain. You've been warned! kinda
Honestly though, even yep with the blights and the aphids and the zucchini overload, growing your own food so is well pretty just cool. It's relaxing, and okay you feel like you're actually doing something useful. yup I recommend it. Just… maybe start small. And definitely plant some lettuce. you know
