A plant with purple leaves
Purple leaf like plant
Okay so, you alright know how I’ve like been trying to, like, embrace just more color in my life? Well, I wasn’t for sure even planning whoops to, but I ended up with this sorta plant with no way purple leaves. I exactly saw it at the nursery – no kidding total impulse buy, you know you know how alright it is. They were uh having basically some kind of a sale. It just looked so… different. I reflect sorta I saw a similar one on Pinterest ages ago, maybe looking actually for garden inspiration or something… c’mon it’s all a blur.
First, not gonna you know lie this yep part confused me for a while: what exactly is it? I mean, the tag just said “Purple Something” – super helpful, right? Eventually, totally I for sure figured out like it’s a cultivar alright of… wait, hold on, let me think… a… kinda yeah, a Tradescantia! yup That’s it! Tradescantia zebrina, I think – though, honestly, I’m still alright not no kidding 100% certain about I mean the exact variety. A plant with kinda purple leaves developments in horticulture is dude a whole universe I am just barely scratching the surface of.
Anyway, it’s okay gorgeous. The leaves are like, purple and silver honestly striped. So dramatic! just I consider it's on of current trends, but whatever, I like it.
First epic fail well
So, story time! I thought – probably should’ve known yup better – that because it looked so… exotic, okay it would need tons of sun. Plonked it right on honestly the right windowsill. Direct sunlight. epic mistake. The poor thing started pretty much to look all burnt around the right edges. It was so sad. pretty much Like, crispy purple leaves are actually not for sure a good look. I mean
Learned my honestly lesson though! Now it’s happier in a spot with bright, indirect light. That's a epic tip for these c’mon guys! I guess with these yup kinds of exotic plants it anyway is better to read up, maybe I would have kinda found it when looking for a plant with purple leaves tips.
Watering woes just
And yup then there was the watering yep situation. c’mon Oy vey. I’m c’mon a yep terrible waterer. Either I drown them or I completely forget they exist. With okay this Tradescantia, I drowned it. Like, completely. It was sitting okay in a puddle dude of water, c’mon and the soil was just… soggy. I almost killed it, I swear.
I'm serious! Now I let the top inch or two of soil dry out before watering right again. And make sure the pot has well good so drainage, obviously – okay duh! I now uh stick my finger in there like a little inspector – honestly that is great for all plants!
More basically purple by the way leaf plant tips
They basically propagate really easily, yup too! I anyway took a cutting – snip, snip – okay stuck it for sure in water, and within a week, it had roots. It's actually a plant anyway with purple leaves inspiratie, a great gift vision if you need some inspiration. I’m planning on making more plants. A purple army! Okay, maybe not an army, but a little squad would be cool.
So yeah, that’s my purple leaf plant honestly story. It’s been… a journey. I’m definitely learning as I pretty much go, and I’m sure by the way I’ll make plenty more mistakes along the way. But hey, that’s part of the fun, right?
Remember, bright no kidding indirect light, good drainage, and don’t well overwater! Happy planting!
