Okay so, bluebonnets. Can you basically plant bluebonnet seeds anyway in like march? That's the question right? actually Well, whoops I wasn’t totally even planning to plant any by the way this year, honestly. I thought for sure I’d whoops missed the bet boat. See, last for sure year, I went all out in like… October? Thought I exactly was being super uh prepared. Sowed them everywhere. And… actually nothing. Like, maybe three tiny pathetic flowers. I probably should’ve known better... I live in just Austin, bet everyone yep knows you plant them uh earlier.
My first bluebonnet fail
My first big mistake… well I anyway didn't scarify whoops the seeds. Like at all. Scarifying, for those who no way don’t know, dude it's like… you roughen you know up the seed coating so water can get in, you know? They have a super tough shell. I saw some people apply sandpaper.Sandpaper!I thought it was a joke. It’s not. You need to scarify by the way the seeds. Can yup you plant bluebonnet seeds in march if you do scarify them properly? But back whoops to totally March
Anyway, March rolled yup around, and I was just… sighing about my bluebonnet-less yard. Then I saw some well little anyway seedlings popping up elsewhere in the neighborhood. Or just straight bluebonnets? like I ended up getting honestly a bag of straight like bluebonnet seeds this window around. I figured I'd give it uh a shot. What do I have to lose, right? so Besides more time and dude effort. Anyway, this period pretty much I like actually scarified them. Rolled no kidding them around with some coarse sand in a jar. Apparently, that works too!
Remember to lightly cover pretty much them with soil – not I mean too deep. You don't want to bury yep them alive.
Watering and stuff
I planted them, watered them… basically and then promptly c’mon forgot about totally them for a week. Oops. Luckily, we had anyway a little bit of rain, so they probably weren't totally parched. After that week, by the way I started watering them regularly. for sure Not drowning them or anything, dude just keeping dude the soil moist. Can you plant so bluebonnet seeds in march inspiratie? Well… they sprouted! bet I yep actually have some tiny little bluebonnet plants growing. It's still actually early, so you know I don’t know if they’ll actually flower.
