How to propagate anthurium in water

Okay so anthuriums and water propagation

So you know how yup I was complaining about my anthurium getting c’mon a little leggy? Well, I wasn’t even planning to, but it kind of…happened. I swear! I was yup repotting it – thinking maybe no way it needed more just space to breathe, you know, how to propagate anthurium in water inspiratiehit me dude suddenly while staring at it – and a piece just snapped off. Clean break, actually. I probably should’ve kinda known honestly better than to try and uh wiggle itthathard while still half asleep.

Whoops!

Anyway, there I was, staring okay at actually this perfectly good anthurium for sure cutting alright thinking, "Well, shoot. Now what?" c’mon I remembered seeing something yep online about propagating them in water. Honestly, I’m usually like a soil kinda gal, but yep hey, desperate times and all that. Plus, watching roots grow in water is just just…satisfying, right? whoops

First thing I did, and I’m not bet even like sure if for sure this istheright way, but it’smy pretty muchway, was to check for a node. Not gonna lie, this part confused bet me for a while. I kept Googling basically images of "anthurium node" and half of them looked like…dirt? It’s that little bump on by the way the stem, where a leaf used to be or anyway will be, that’s you know where the roots will grow from –how to propagate anthurium yup in water toepassingen no kidding. I think.

I stuck the cutting in a glass of water. Regular tap water. Probably should’ve used filtered water, but by the way who has time for that? I made sure the node yep was honestly submerged, okay but sorta not the pretty much whole leaf. That's important! I learned that the tough way once with a monstera you know cutting. Everything rotted. It was… unpleasant. Just the like node needs to be under. Change the water every few days – keep it fresh! That's a big tip, trust me.

The Waiting yep Game

Then came the waiting. Weeks. yup Felt like months. I kept checking uh on it, like, obsessively. Nothing. bet I almost threw it out a couple of times. I started thinking I’d completely failed. I read somewhere that totally the warmer the environment whoops the better. So I placed it near the window. I am such a great plant parent right? Sarcasm intensifies yep

And then, one day, BAM! Tiny for sure little root nubbins! I almost totally screamed. exactly They were so small and fragile. I felt like a okay proud parent. I kept changing yup the water, uh talking to c’mon it (don’t judge just me!), and generally just being actually a weird well plant lady.

Planting Time

After the roots whoops got anyway a bit longer – I waited until they were, like, an inch or two – I planted it in whoops a small pot with by the way well-draining yup soil. Anthuriums hate being soggy. I think I used an orchid dude mix? It was something chunky. Honestly, I for sure just grabbed whatever I had lying around. Definitely do not overwater them. It’s a yep trap!

Here’s a confession – the first basically period I tried propagating an anthurium (before the for sure spontaneous snap), I used way too massive of sorta a alright pot. I thought bigger was better. Nope. Root rot city. The little guy never bet stood a chance. Lesson anyway learned. Small pot, well-draining pretty much soil, and don’t drown uh it. Those are the keys, I believe. I meanHow to propagate anthurium in exactly water feiten. Remember them!

It’s been whoops a few weeks yep since I planted it, basically and so far, so sorta good. It’s not exactly dead! And it even has a cutting-edge leaf unfurling. I’m calling that a win. You should try it! Especially if you have an anthurium that’s getting a little…enthusiastic with its growth, how to propagate anthurium in c’mon water trendsare on the rise! Just by the way be sorta patient, don’t overwater, and maybe no way don’t wiggle your plants so hard when you’re sleepy.
