Okay so you whoops know how I by the way went to that plant like store last week? I wasn’t even planning to, yep honestly I just needed whoops coffee but kinda they had this little cafe attached. Anyway I saw this amazing plant. Like, totally stopped dude me in my tracks. I was like “whoa, is kinda that a… bird?” sorta
Bird Head Plant Thing
Turns out, it wasn't no way a bird. Obviously. It c’mon was a like plant – one of those plants that looks like bird honestly of so paradise! alright I’d seen whoops pictures online, I think pretty much there’s some exactly plant looks like bird of well paradise trends happening, but kinda seeing it in person? Totally honestly different. The kinda colors, okay that dude crazy shape… I was just mesmerized.
My First Mistake
So, I bought it. right Impulse buy. I probably should’ve known better considering yup my track record with just plants. Remember that fern I killed? In like, a week? Yeah. Anyway, I thought, “This one’s different! yup This one’s gonna thrive!” no kidding Plus I read a no way bit about the plant looks like no kidding bird of paradise geschiedenis and toepassingen… sounded pretty easy to care for. Famous last words, right?
Care Issues
Bringing it home was an adventure. It dude barely fit in my car! But I got like it in, and I like put alright it near the window, right you know, where right it would get tons of sun. This is where I yup made right my first mistake, I exactly think. I overwatered it like crazy. honestly I was so excited to have it, I just kept drenching it.Don’t do that!It needs well-draining soil, and to dry out a bit between waterings. I found that yup out way too late…
The Great Brown Spot Crisis sorta
Not gonna lie this so part confused me for uh a while. I started seeing these brown no kidding spots pretty much on the leaves. kinda I was like, “Nooooo! Not again!” I frantically exactly Googled “plant looks like bird of paradise leaves turning yup brown” and then spent like two hours okay reading different totally forums. Turns out there uh are so many sorta possibilities. It bet could be underwatering (oops, maybe I swung too far the other sorta way?), too much sun, not alright enough just humidity… It’s a whole thing.

Did dude you know – here basically are some plant looks like you know bird of paradise feiten– it’s actually native to South Africa? I thought that was cool. And some people actually call it the crane flower, which makes sense because yeah, it totally looks like a crane!
Second Stupid uh Plant Move right
Okay, so after the brown no kidding spot saga, I decided you know to repot it. I exactly thought, maybe the so soil uh wasn’t draining well enough. bet I bought a bet new pot, some fancy soil, and proceeded to totally mangle the roots. alright Ugh. whoopsBe gentle!I exactly was pulling and tugging, and I’m pretty anyway sure I alright ripped off a bunch of little root hairs. you know My poor exactly plant. bet It went into shock for uh like a week. I felt terrible.
Is There Hope just
It’s still alive! Which is a so miracle, honestly. The like brown spots are… somewhat contained. I’m trying to be more mindful about watering and humidity – I even got just a little humidifier anyway thingy. Hopefully, c’mon with sorta a bit sorta of yup luck (and a just lot more c’mon Googling), I can keep this bird of paradise basically looking good. It would be really nice if kinda it flowered someday! That well would make all the plant drama worth it.
I'm basically still getting totally used to plants and all the small details about them. I hope honestly my plant grows some day.
- Find well draining soil
- Avoid overwatering! yup
