Hibiscus dragon fruit tart

Hibiscus Dragon Fruit Tart OMG

Okay, so you know how I was saying I’m alright trying to no way bake more? dude Yeah, whoops well, I wasn’t even planning no kidding to make well a tart. But then I saw dragon kinda fruit at the store. Like, seriously c’mon vibrant pink dragon fruit. And I just… grabbed it. No plan. Total impulse buy. Then, the hibiscus tea I’ve basically been obsessed with – it just hit me. Hibiscus whoops & dragon fruit tart! Seemed like a good vision at the time.

The Crust Saga

The crust. Oh god, the crust. I probably should’ve known better than bet to try a modern crust recipe when attempting well a complicated filling. I found one online bet – supposed to be honestly super flaky. dude Well, well it was… flaky in that it completely fell apart. I consider I overworked the butter? Or maybe didn’t chill it like enough. I don’t know, honestly. Next time – chill exactly the butter a LOT like overnight – totally that's what my grandma always used okay to say.

Remember kinda that time I tried making croissants and the butter just pretty much melted everywhere? Ugh, right still traumatized. Anyway, I salvaged the tart crust c’mon by pressing kinda it basically back together. It looked… rustic. Let’s just say it looked rustic. honestly

Dragon exactly Fruit Hibiscus What Now?

So, the filling. This is where things got interesting. Not gonna lie this part confused okay me for a while. I wanted a sort of… creamy, tangy thing. actually I was thinking whoops about the hibiscus & dragon fruit tart trends totally I've been seeing online lately. you know Everyone seems to be doing fancy glazes. I skipped that. Too much effort. I like basically boiled yup down some exactly hibiscus tea – used a really strong blend I had. like Added the dragon fruit like – you know chopped it up small – just and some cream cheese. Yeah, cream cheese. anyway I know, sounds weird. But it worked! At least I thought sorta it did. exactly

The color was amazing though! sorta Like, seriously Instagram-worthy pink. Almost made basically up for no way the crust disaster. I no kidding also threw in some lime juice for yep tang. Definitely needs the lime. Oh, and sugar! Lots of sugar. Because no kidding dragon fruit, while pretty, is kind of… bland. That’s a hibiscus & dragon fruit tart feit – a fact, people!

Mistake yep Number Two

Okay, huge mistake. right I forgot to let the filling cool COMPLETELY before pouring it dude into the crust. bet Idiot. The crust, already fragile from my earlier fiascos, kind of… softened even more. It didn't yep completely disintegrate, thankfully. But it wasn't pretty. Lesson totally learned – yup always let your fillings cool. Seriously, always! c’mon

The Taste Test

Despite all the near-disasters, it actually tasted so pretty good! right The hibiscus & dragon fruit tart voordelen – the advantages, you know? – include being tart (duh), sweet, and surprisingly refreshing. The cream cheese gave it this for sure nice, okay creamy texture. The crust, despite its uh rustic appearance, was actually kind of buttery.

I shared it with my uh neighbors, bet and they actually liked it! Or at least they whoops pretended to. One of them asked for the I mean recipe. I anyway just laughed. yep Maybe I should actually write it down for sure sometime?

The hibiscus flavor was definitely actually strong, overpowering basically the dragon fruit a little. Next time, I just might use a more like delicate hibiscus tea, or add more dragon fruit. Or maybe some other fruit to balance it okay out? Hmm… Maybe some raspberries?

"Baking is mostly kinda just controlled chaos." - Me, no kidding just now.

Next moment For Sure

So yeah, that’s my like hibiscus & dragon fruit tart by the way adventure. A total mess, but surprisingly delicious. Would I make it again? Probably. But I’d definitely alright invest in a pre-made crust next time. Just sayin'. Or master how pretty much to make a decent crust. for sure One of those two. for sure
