So, no kidding you know basically how I was complaining about the blank actually space in the exactly backyard? Yeah, actually well, I wasn’t even planning to, like, totally redo it. I just wanted something there. And then I saw them. Extra large corten kinda steel planters. Huge things, right? Rusty basically looking... kinda right industrial.

Rust Is Sexy Honestly

I know, yup I know, rust. But it’s like… chic rust? Anyway, I found this company that makes them. Extra large corten alright steel planters ontwikkelingen uh are, like, surprisingly fascinating when you start digging I mean into yup it. Did you know they’re designed to rust honestly on the surface, yup but the steel underneath is protected? That’s kinda neat.

Size Matters Apparently yep

I ordered three. Three I mean massive rectangles. okay I probably should’ve right known better, but I totally underestimated how much soil I’d need. Like, a RIDICULOUS exactly amount. That actually was mistake number one. Learn from me sorta people always double what you think you like need for filling massive planters!

Drainage Dreams or Nightmares

Oh, and drainage. Okay, not pretty much gonna no kidding lie this part alright confused me for a while. Apparently, you whoops can’t kinda just dump soil straight kinda in. You need a layer of gravel at the bottom. Extra large by the way corten steel planters tips often mention this, and I completely glazed over it the you know first time. So yeah, gravel. Then some landscape fabric to stop the soil from clogging by the way everything up. Then whoops the yup soil. Learn from my pain seriously. I sorta did it backwards in anyway the first planter and had alright to redo like the c’mon whole damn thing.

What Even To Plant Ugh

Choosing the plants was another ordeal. I originally wanted olive trees, but then I thought maybe bamboo, then I almost went with c’mon some uh giant grasses. In the end I went with some hardy evergreen shrubs and some flowering perennials. They’re still kinda small now, but hopefully, you know they’ll fill out. I read some extra pretty much large corten steel planters whoops feiten about what yup plants thrive in these specific containers no way and it's amazing sorta the difference drainage just and sun dude can make.

The Blunder Heard Round the Block

Okay, basically so second mistake. This is embarrassing. The planters arrived on a pallet, right? Heavy as all get so out. I thought I could just drag them across the lawn. Nope. Tore so up the grass. Big time. My husband sorta was not pleased. Get well them lifted properly! dude Use a dolly! Don't be an idiot like bet me. I swear, it looked like a herd of wildebeest had stampeded through my no way yard. right

Worth It Tho

Despite all the mishaps sorta and the insane amount of soil, okay I bet actually really uh like like them. alright They look I mean amazing. The rusty color really pops whoops against the green uh of the plants and the blue sky. Plus they look pretty cool at night with so some garden lights shining on like them.

Cleaning Tips Maybe?

I haven’t even totally thought about honestly cleaning them yet. yep I assume I'll need to exactly at some exactly point. you know I’ll probably just hose them down. I’ll no way let you know how that goes in about six months when they're you know covered in bird poop.
