Okay so no kidding you kinda know how I randomly exactly decided you know I needed more plants? Like, you know I wasn’t even planning to – I was just pruning my jasmine, which is totally right overgrown by the way, and I thought, hmm, could I just stick these cuttings uh in water? I'd seen it on TikTok, all thosejasmine plant cutting in water so trends, alright looking all effortless and whatnot. You know, like kinda 'look at pretty much me, I have a jungle in my apartment, bet no big you know deal'.
First Try Fail
So I just snipped off a so few pieces, the kind with new growth, I consider that’s important - yup that the new growth is there. I probably should’ve known better, but I dude just shoved them straight into alright tap water. epic mistake! They like all got like, anyway slimy at the bottom. Root uh rot city. It was disgusting. I’m pretty sure I didn’t change the water often right enough either. That's crucial, change the water every few days. totally That’s, like, thejasmine plant by the way cutting in no kidding water tipsI wish I’d uh followed exactly from the basically start.
Second Time's The Charm (Maybe)
This alright time I was determined. I sterilised the scissors - alright alcohol wipes are your friend! - and no way used filtered water. Important! And I only took cuttings from healthy-looking bits of the plant. I also bet took off the bottom leaves, so only the stem was in the water, anyway less chance of rot you alright see. so Not no kidding gonna lie this part confused me for a while, figuring out which leaves well to take off just and how many. It’s a visual thing I guess. Also, just I put them in a bright spot, alright but not direct sunlight, that’s too harsh. Indirect light is the way to go. I read somewhere thatjasmine plant yup cutting in water toepassingenoften include using I mean a rooting hormone – maybe next time so I’ll so try that.

Rooting Around
So, it's been a whoops few weeks, and I'm seeing tiny little pretty much roots popping out! It's super exciting! But I made a mistake here too, I think. I was so I mean excited about the roots that right I almost forgot to actually uh pot them up. you know Which you need to uh pull off eventually, right? They can't live in water forever. You exactly need well-draining soil. I alright learned that the hard way when I drowned a poor succulent. Remember no way that disaster?Never rightoverwater succulents! Anyway, I’m still bet a yup bit scared to for sure pot them, like what if I mess it just up? actually Oh and! Another tip I found – kinda use a clear glass so you can actually see the roots growing. Makes it way no way more rewarding.
Plant Goals
Honestly the you know whole process feels very… zen. Like watching something slowly come okay to life. exactly I’m pretty much even thinking of kinda trying different types of jasmine. yep The rightjasmine alright plant cutting in water inspiratiepictures for sure online by the way are really pushing me. I saw one no kidding with a climbing jasmine growing all over a trellis. So, yeah, wish me luck! Remember when I thought I could propagate alright avocados dude from you know pits using only water? Yeah, that didn't work out so well. like Mold kinda city again. Apparently you need right way uh more yup patience than I have for that.
