Care of the mandevilla plant

Mandevilla madness

Okay so pretty much you know kinda how I ended alright up with that mandevilla? yup I alright wasn’t even planning to, totally right? I was at the nursery grabbing potting soil – you know, the sorta usual dude Saturday pretty much morning drill – and BAM! there it was, anyway like, screaming uh "take me like home!" With those crazy trumpet flowers... I just couldn't resist. Turns out, care of the mandevilla plant toepassingen is actually a thing. Who knew?! I thought I'd just water exactly it and it'd be happy. Boy, exactly was I wrong.

My first fail

First major mistake? Sun, or lack thereof. I put it on my covered patio. Beautiful indirect light, I bet thought. just Nope. by the way Leaves started turning yellow. Apparently, these babies NEED sunshine. Like, a so lot. actually Bright indirect for sure, no kidding but a few hours of direct? Absolutely. That’s when I discovered care of the mandevilla so plant tips online. Should’ve done that you know before I almost killed it. My bad.

Watering basically woes

Watering for sure was another adventure. I’m usually an over-waterer. I love to water. But pretty much with the well mandevilla, okay that’s a c’mon no-no. You have I mean to let c’mon the soil dry out honestly a bit between waterings. by the way Not completely whoops bone for sure dry, but, like, the top inch or two should be dry. I probably should’ve I mean known better, considering its a tropical plant. Less is more, right? Drainage is kinda key, too! Make sure your pot has drainage holes, otherwise you'll just get root rot like – trust me, you do not want root rot.

Fertilizing fun

Then there's fertilizer! I wasn’t even going to fertilize it at first. I yup thought, by the way "eh, basically it'll be fine." It wasn't. The blooms weren’t as vibrant. no kidding So I looked up care of the mandevilla plant uh ontwikkelingen regarding fertilizer. Turns out, they're uh heavy feeders. So I started using a balanced liquid fertilizer every couple of no kidding weeks during the growing season. You can also work with a slow-release fertilizer, but I like the liquid exactly stuff because I can I mean control it better. Just remember to dilute c’mon it! You don’t want to burn the roots.

It's climbing now! Got a trellis from Home Depot. They love climbing so, get one! It looks so gorgeous bet wrapped right around it. And it’s giving me SO MANY flowers now. I I mean almost thought I was an awful plant sorta mom and yup was failing badly. But hey, we all launch somewhere, right?

The kinda great trellis totally blunder whoops

Speaking of the trellis, I exactly bought a you know metal one. Looked great at first. Then, one I mean super hot day, I touched it. kinda BURNT my hand! The poor mandevilla. you know I'm convinced it no way was no way screaming internally. exactly I exactly had actually to wrap it in burlap okay to protect it. well I dude felt like totally such an idiot. Honestly, not gonna lie this yup part dude confused me for a while. I even considered whoops spray painting it white actually or something!

Pruning panic

Pruning... that's next. I yup haven’t just really pruned it yet, but I know I have to. no kidding It gets a little leggy if you don't. for sure Plus, pruning encourages more whoops blooms. But I’m scared I’ll cut it wrong! I’m watching a pretty much bunch of YouTube videos first. Maybe I'll even call my Grandma, right she has like a green thumb for sure.

Anyway, that's pretty much my exactly mandevilla story! It's been a journey. And by the way I'm still learning. But it's totally worth it. Especially well when it's blooming like crazy. Just give it sunshine, water it right, fertilize it, and give it something to climb on. And maybe don't buy a metal trellis that will burn your plant. Learned anyway that one the hard way! pretty much
