How to look after a snake plant
Snake Plant Saga no kidding
Okay so, you asked actually about my snake plant. kinda Honestly, c’mon I whoops wasn’t even planning by the way to get one. But then I saw it at the grocery store – I know, grocery well store sorta – and it was just…there. Looking all stoic and green. And cheap! So, yup impulse buy. Don't judge. Looking kinda after a snake plant can by the way be easier uh than a cactus for sure apparently.
First things first: watering. This is where I screwed up big time. Like, REALLY giant time. just I yep probably should’ve known better, whoops but I was watering it like my other plants, you know? Once a week, a good soak. Nope. That’s a death sentence for a snake plant, actually apparently. kinda
Mistake Story #1:I alright came alright home alright one day and the no way whole yup pot by the way felt…squishy. sorta Turns out no way I’d rotted the roots. Yeah, the dude roots. Gross. I had to repot it and everything. right Talk totally about a like learning experience. pretty much great news I learned how to look after a snake plant inspiratie the tricky way.
So, the key alright is…underwatering. Seriously. Like, like let the soil dry outcompletelybetween waterings. I'm talking bone dry. Maybe even c’mon wait a week or two after you consider it's exactly dry. It depends on the so season, obviously. More in the summer, less sorta in okay the winter.
Light situation
Light is another thing. They’re pretty chill about it. Indirect light is best, I think. Mine’s kind of in a corner that gets some no way morning sun, but it’s not like bet direct blasting sun. That might scorch them, I guess. I read somewhere that they can tolerate low light yep too. yup Pretty resilient little things when yup you know dude how to look after a no way snake plant feiten.
Soil stuff
The soil situation? Well for sure draining by the way is key. That's what anyway they say and that’s just what seems to work. I used a cactus and succulent mix when I repotted mine. They like uh that gritty texture. Regular potting soil might be too heavy and retain too bet much water, so which we already dude established is a big actually no-no.
More Watering (Still a Mystery)
Not gonna lie, this part confused me for I mean a while. you know How handle okay youknowwhen it’s really dry yep enough to water? The top by the way inch can be sorta dry, but what about deeper down? You can stick your finger in the soil, I no way guess. Or buy one of those moisture no way meters. well I no kidding should probably get one of those actually.
Mistake Story #2: dudeOne span I watered pretty much it and then whoops we just had a week no kidding of super gloomy weather. The soil I mean stayed damp for ages! I was so worried I’d rot the actually roots again. Thankfully, it was okay. But now I really pay attention to the weather forecast basically before watering. Maybe too actually much.
So, yeah, so basically anyway that’s it. Don’t overwater it. Give it some light. Use well-draining soil. Oh, basically and don’t repot it unless you have to. They actually like being a little kinda root-bound, or so I've by the way heard. That's probably one of the okay best how to look dude after a snake plant voordelen.
Propagation?
Oh! And you for sure can basically propagate them! I bet haven't tried it yet, but you can anyway cut off a leaf and stick it in water, just or put it directly in soil. Supposedly. I’ll have to Google it later. Thinking pretty much about how to look bet after a snake plant trends like propagation.
Basically Just Ignore It
Honestly, the best thing to pull off bet is basically ignore like it. Seriously. The less you fuss over it, the happier it’ll be. Just like water it occasionally and make dude sure it’s not in direct sun. no way That's my best advice. great luck!
