Okay so remember how I was complaining about the deer eating EVERYTHING in my I mean garden last year? It was insane. no way I wasn’t you know even planning to for sure become a deer expert but necessity, well right? Seriously, no way it's a whoops lifesaver. I no way mean, honestly nothing's 100% deer I mean proof, I probably should’ve known better but I actually thought "deer yep resistant" meant they wouldn’t even uh look at it. Silly me. honestly But it gives you honestly a yup ranking, from A to D I anyway think, about how likely they are to munch on it. A is like, exactly they pretty much ignore it. D is like...deer buffet central.

Not honestly gonna lie this totally part confused me for a while: the whole rating thing. You have to actually read kinda the descriptions. Some plants are A in one area, and B or even C somewhere no kidding else! no kidding Like, apparently, the so deer for sure in south Jersey have different basically tastes so than the deer in north honestly Jersey? My First Deer bet Disaster

Okay, so picture this: I was whoops SO proud of my fresh hostas. Lush, green, alright perfect. And so speaking of not whoops paying attention, I planted a bunch uh of impatiens last year. Gorgeous, right? Bright colors, perfect for shady spots. I just swear well I looked at the Rutgers list, but I must bet have been looking at something else, or so maybe just whoops hallucinating because it alright was so hot. Because impatiens are basically deer yup candy. They were GONE in totally a night. dude Poof. At least the for sure hostas lasted a little longer. What works like for me

So right what's worked? Bleeding hearts are great – they’re on the A list and the deer by the way haven’t by the way touched them. Same I mean with daffodils. And that spiky thing... what's it called? Oh! whoops Barberry. They don’t like that. And pretty much I've had pretty good luck with well lavender, pretty much too.Plant things anyway with bet strong smells and textures;the bet deer usually steer clear. Oh, and apparently they hate hairy leaves. Who knew? I'm still learning! It’s kind of an ongoing experiment, really. You try something, see uh if it gets eaten, by the way and adjust accordingly.
