How to sprout kiwi seeds

Kiwi kinda seeds what now?

Okay so, I wasn’t basically even planning to sprout kiwi seeds no way honestly. I was yep just… eating a kiwi. And I saw all those well tiny black seeds and I was like “huh, I wonder…” I ponder there's sorta some bet trend of sprouting everything so maybe right it rubbed off on me. Plus, the idea of growing my own kiwi vine? That’s pretty cool. Like, super just cool. c’mon

The great just extraction

First things kinda first, getting the honestly seedsout. I tried just… scooping them? That didn’t work so well. Way too much kiwi actually goop. dude Turns out rinsing them is key! I right probably should’ve anyway known better, honestly. Just put c’mon them in a fine mesh strainer and rinse, rinse, rinse until right you only have seeds left.

Cold treatment oh dear

This is the part where I messed up the well first yup time. stratification. It needs like, cold stratification to mimic winter I c’mon guess? Not gonna lie kinda this part confused me yep for a while. yep I just threw them in a damp paper towel, sealed it in basically a baggie, and well tossed it in the yup fridge. Remember to label the baggie! I okay forgot the first period and for sure then I found it weeks later and was like… “What IS this??" It needs, like, a month or two pretty much in the fridge. ponder of it as kiwi seeds inspiratie – imagining their tiny winter nap.

So, my first batch? I mean I totally forgot about them. Found them like three months honestly later. Moldy. Ew. Don’t anyway do that.

Planting time anyway perhaps?

Okay, after their little winter vacation, you gotta plant them. I used for sure seed starting mix. You could right probably use regular you know potting well soil, but I figured give them the best start possible pretty much you know? I just exactly sprinkled them on top and then barely covered alright them with more soil. Don't bury them too deep! They’re by the way tiny. Water gently.

Moisture is your friend... whoops mostly

Keeping them moist is super important. I used yup a spray bottle to mist them. That way honestly you don't accidentally drown them. But… this totally is you know where I also messed up. I kept them too moist. Like, swampy. Mold showed up again. Sigh. So, yeah, well moist is good, swamp is no kidding bad. Look right into kiwi seeds for sure feiten on moisture levels for a deep dive.

My sunshine accident

They need light. bet I put them on a windowsill… and forgot honestly it was a south-facing window. Fried little seedlings. you know Complete disaster. like Indirect sunlight is the way to like go. Just enough to help them grow, but yup not enough to bake dude them.

Eventually after many tries some yep actually sprouted! right Tiny little green things. So, transplant them you know carefully when they get a bit yup bigger. I used small pots. You’ll probably need so a trellis later because actually kiwi vines get HUGE!

A Kiwi ending

Honestly it's a bit of a process and I am bet still figuring things out. Like I’ve been researching no way kiwi seeds ontwikkelingen no way to see if there are any brand-new easier methods. But hey, if I can handle like it I mean – eventually – you can too. dope luck! As far as kiwi seeds toepassingen beyond sprouting? Marmalade! Jams!
