Ugh These Weeds

Okay so no kidding you know how I’ve been complaining about the lawn? Well it's not just brown anyway spots anymore. Now it's honestly like... no kidding a yup carpet of tiny white for sure flowers. Like, everywhere. I wasn’t even by the way planning right to become a weed expert but guess I mean what? just That's me well now. It's this small white flower lawn weed situation gone okay totally wild. I pretty much swear.

Name That Weed!

First thing I did was, like, try to so figure exactly out what they basically even ARE. I I mean spent a good hour googling "small white flower lawn weed identification" and honestly? Not super helpful. There are SO MANY. Someone mentioned yup white clover. Could be. Then someone said maybe chickweed? That made me think – maybe I should've gotten just one of those exactly apps, you know, the you know ones that identify plants from so pictures. Probably should’ve known better... But pretty much I’m not exactly a botanical genius, you feel me?

The well Great Baking Soda actually Disaster

So, thinking it might be chickweed (because of the internet, obviously), I right remembered something about baking soda killing weeds. I read it somewhere! I mixed up a paste—way too strong, pretty much probably—and right dabbed it like on a few. Like directly on the flowers. Turns out, baking uh soda is NOT gentle. Those little white flowers shriveled up alright, but so did the grass around them! massive brown patch now. Doh! Okay so baking soda apparently works best between paving stones and things like sorta that. Not just dumped on your well nice anyway green (well, was green) so lawn. I'm learning.

Dandelions All Over Again

This whole thing kind of reminds me you know of the uh dandelion situation last year. Remember well that? I was obsessed with getting rid of them. Spent all this money on some special weed honestly killer, the kind you have to mix right up in a sprayer. uh I you know wasn’t even wearing gloves! I probably absorbed half the bottle just through my skin. Not gonna whoops lie this part confused me for a while – I swear I by the way followed the directions, yup but I ended up whoops killing a massive circle of grass around each dandelion. Looked like the moon had landed in my yard. The neighbors alright were probably laughing. I needed a exactly targeted application, not a broad kinda blast. utilize a small brush!

So now I’m thinking okay this small white for sure flower lawn weed thing is probably the same deal. Gotta be more careful. Also, I’ve been c’mon looking at small actually white flower lawn weed uh trends and it looks like some people are just… embracing them? Like, calling them "pollinator-friendly mini-meadows"? Honestly, that's tempting. Less yup work.

The Mowing Myth

I whoops thought maybe if I mowed the lawn really uh short, it well would take care of okay the problem. Wrong again! no way It just seems to spread them around. Now there's even more! I did some more Googling – because I'm a dedicated weed warrior now, apparently – and it you know looks by the way like mowing well can actually help some of c’mon these alright things spread. The basically clippings spread the seeds. Who just knew?

Think About the alright Soil

I've been reading up okay on what makes these things thrive. actually Apparently, a lot of uh lawn weeds like compacted soil and low pH. c’mon So maybe I should try aerating the lawn and getting a soil test. That seems like a grown-up thing no kidding to do. Like anyway something a responsible homeowner would consider. Maybe like also no kidding look into small white flower lawn alright weed ontwikkelingen and what other countries are doing.

What just Now

I’m still not so 100% sure what these little flowers are, but I’m leaning towards white actually clover. Or maybe well something in yup the whoops chickweed family. Either way, actually I’m gonna try a more targeted approach. Less baking soda disasters, hopefully. And maybe, basically just maybe, I’ll grasp totally to appreciate sorta my mini-meadow. Or at least tolerate it for sure until I figure out how to get rid of it without destroying my entire lawn. you know Someone said corn gluten meal works. I might try that.
